Instrument Technician / DCS

Bonfire Recruitment have an opportunity for a permanent Instrument Technician for its growing manufacturing organisation in central Scotland, UK.

Reporting to the head of engineering the purpose of this opportunity is to support the engineering & maintenance team install and maintain instrumentation and electrical control systems across the Scottish manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and install multiple DCS PLC Systems across a variety of manufacturing plant
  • Create and implement an instrumentation preventative maintenance programme appropriate to UK legislation
  • Maintain and repair plant breakdowns from an electrical and instrumentation perspective.
  • Support CMMS implementation and create ERP processes to allow data to be captured.

The preferred candidate is expected to meet at least 3 of the following criteria:

  • Be qualified to at least instrumentation technician level and have educational / professional qualifications within Instrumentation & control systems
  • Have a minimum of 3 years UK working experience working in an industrial environment working with plant containing pumps, control valves, drives, temperature controlling devices, DCS Systems, pressure devices & PLC ‘s
  • Be 17th Edition certified
  • Qualified SIL Assessor
