Facilities Manager - Bacardi

Bonfire Recruitment are working on a retained basis with a large facilities management company to recruit a Facilities Manager for the Bacardi operation based at John Dewar and Sons in Glasgow.

 

Bacardi has entrusted our clients business as privileged FM partner for the next 3 years to optimise and align FM services.

 

Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held, family-owned spirits company in the world produces and markets internationally recognised spirits and wines. Its brand portfolio comprises more than 200 brands and labels, including the eponymous Bacardi rum.

 A subsidiary of Bacardi, John Dewar and Sons is a Scottish distiller and whisky blender. The company has five distilleries : Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie, MacDuff and Royal Brackla. Headqurtered at London Road in Glasgow which is also where the company’s ageing warehouses and blending facilities are sites.

 

The Opportunity – Facilities Manager

Based at John Dewars site in Glasgow, you will be responsible for the business operation onsite to deliver, manage, develop and streamline the Bacardi support operations.

Responsibilities :

To provide leadership, competency and process ownership through a number of outsourced contract partners to the facility in Glasgow and Poniel. You will assume full responsibility of all services both soft and hard and management of 3rd party suppliers and contractors. John Dewars have approximately 250 heads on site working across production and manufacturing.

  • Responsible for the contract management specific to facilities and delivery to ensure uninterrupted services, value and efficiencies at the site.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with site based contractors engaged to provide service, enabling successful delivery of cost savings and service level agreements.
  • Ensure the correct skills are maintained and developed within the onsite teams to maintain and improve capability and responsibility.
  • Identify and/or support the successful delivery of key projects/initiatives aimed at improving the site facility and appearance and improving overall service provision.
  • Act as key business contact supporting and maintaining Governance structures with each service provider
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequate level of control and direct supervision exists to ensure that safety, environmental and GMP standards are met.
  • Establish as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) where required in the provision of soft / hard services to the sites.

 

Requirements :

We are looking for a self-motivated, committed and focused leader with a good technical head and eye for detail who takes pride in their work. You will ideally have :

  • Experience of facilities management within a medium / large FMCG production site.
  • A degree would be advantageous within – facilities management, building services engineering, building management or business studies.
  • Proven projects experience.
  • Strong network of local contractors.
  • Negotiation and procurement skills
  • Good interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent team work and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to problem solve quickly & effectively
  • Ability to plan effectively and close out issues in a timely manner
