Bonfire Recruitment have a permanent opportunity for an EC&I Project Engineer to focus on Controls and Instrumentation design for its retained high value industrial OEM client at its UK hub in South Yorkshire, UK.

This is a unique and all-encompassing hands on design role that supports the delivery of bespoke equipment globally.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide EC&I engineering support to capital projects including front end design and commissioning support.
  • Scope of electrical work including management of discipline project budgets, schedule, quality of outputs as well as checking and approval
  • Think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
  • Lead electrical detailing team and mentor & direct offshore/internal design support
  • Execute and check detailing electrical designs inclusive of Power supply systems, control cabinet systems, Control systems and Instrumentation systems
  • Specify and select electrical, control and instrumentation systems with process and project team input
  • Providing E&I technical support to the preparation and execution of plant turnarounds.
  • Provide E&I engineering support to capital projects including front end design and commissioning support.
  • Complete / delegate design calculations and documentation updates of datasheets, loopsheets, P&IDs and schematics
  • Troubleshoot and fault find on instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Longer term opportunity to be involved in the planning of FEED & EPC contracts and potential of becoming Lead PM if career motivated

The preferred candidate is expected to have:

  • Engineering degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Control / Integrated / Electronic Engineering, Masters preferred, and working towards Chartered Status.
  • Demonstrable UK / European electrical and instrumentation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or design office.
  • Working to industrial quality standards such as BS EN ISO 13703, BS EN ISO 61511, API 520, API 521, NORSOK P-002
  • Strong communication and project management skills with team player mentality.
